Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-11-08. Last updated: 2026-11-08.
This page explains, in plain words, what Paycheck Calculators collects when you use this site, what it does not collect, and what your choices are. The short version: the calculators run in your browser, and the pay numbers you type in never leave your device.
What we collect
We collect very little, and we collect it on purpose. When you use a calculator, the numbers you type — your salary, your hourly wage, your state, your filing status, your 401(k) rate and your health premium — are used only to work out the result on your screen. They are not sent to our servers, not stored by us, and not shared with anyone. There is no account to sign into, and we do not ask for your name, your email address, or your employer.
If you write to us through the Contact page once an email address is listed there, we will have whatever you put in that message — for example, the salary and state you were checking, and the result you saw. We use that only to answer you and to check the figure you reported. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers.
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics services keep basic technical records: the pages you visit, the type of browser and device you use, rough location by country or region, and how long you spend on a page. These records are grouped together — we look at totals, like how many people used the paycheck calculator this month, not at what any one person typed in.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your pay details, your tax details, or your bank details. We do not collect your name, your home address, or your phone number through the calculators. We do not use fingerprinting, and we do not buy data about you from anyone else. If a page on this site ever asks you for personal details, it will say why, and you can leave the page without giving them.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so the site can remember something on your next visit. This site itself sets no cookies for the calculators — they do not need one to work. Third parties on this site, described below, may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking cookies will not break the calculators.
Advertising — Google AdSense
We plan to show ads on this site through Google AdSense, and this section explains what happens when ads are added. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info. Turning off personalised ads does not turn off ads altogether — you will still see ads, they just will not be picked for you based on your browsing.
No AdSense publisher ID is published on this site yet. One will be added to the site's ads.txt file when an AdSense account is approved. Until then, no advertising cookies are set by us.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — which calculators people use most, which guides get read, and whether pages load properly. Google Analytics uses cookies and records grouped, anonymous usage data. It does not receive the salary or pay numbers you type into the calculators, and it does not receive your name or email address. You can opt out of Google Analytics in your browser by using Google's opt-out add-on, or by blocking third-party cookies.
How we use information
We use the small amount of information described above to run the site, fix mistakes, and decide what to build next. For example, if many people use the paycheck calculator for California, we know that page is worth keeping up to date. If a lot of people report the same wrong figure, we check it against IRS Publication 15-T and fix it. We do not use your information to send you marketing, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Data retention
Calculator inputs are not stored at all — they exist only while the page is open on your device. Messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you and to fix the problem you reported, and then deleted. Grouped analytics records are kept for as long as our analytics account holds them, which is currently up to 26 months, and are then deleted on a rolling basis.
Children's privacy
This site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The calculators are about adult pay and tax, and we ask that children do not send us messages. If you are a parent and you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us through the Contact page and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. Because the calculators do not send us your pay details, there is usually nothing held about you to ask for. If you did write to us, you can ask us to delete your message at any time, and we will do so unless the law says we must keep it. You can also use your browser to block cookies and to opt out of personalised ads, as described above. If you live in California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what we collect and to ask us not to sell your information. We do not sell personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site changes — for example, when ads are added, or when we start using a new analytics tool. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and we will say what changed. If a change is a big one, we will say so on the home page as well. The version of this policy in force is the one on this page at the time you use the site.
Contact
If you have a question about this policy, or about what we hold about you, use the Contact page. The contact email address will be listed there after launch; until then, this policy is the place to find out how the site handles your information.
